The court also gave a directive to the PDP to forward Edevbie’s name to INEC and ordered INEC to accede to the party’s nomination. They were all put on hold pending further proceedings in the appeal of against his disqualification to run in the PDP Gubernatorial primary of Delta State on August 8.

The court dismissed prayers 2 and 3 as a result of Oborevwori’s attorneys withdrawing two of their prayers at the August 1 hearing.

“An Order for abandoning the time to File the Appellant’s Brief of Argument to 3 Days and an Order for abandoning the Time to File the Respondent’s Brief of Argument to 7 Days from the Grant of the Order of the Court” are among the prayers that have been withdrawn.

The court also gave the applicant (Oborevwori) permission to serve the first respondent (David Edevbie) with the record of the appeal, the motion for a stay of execution, and all other subsequent processes by alternative means.

The application was filed on July 22, 2022. This entails pasting the notices or leaving them at the address of the first respondent in a visible location.

The matter will be returned on August 8, 2022.

You may recall that Edevbie contested Oborevwori’s clearance and eligibility to run in the Delta State PDP governor’s primary due to discrepancies in his documents.

Following arguments at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Oborevwori was declared ineligible and unqualified following arguments at the Federal High Court in Abuja because he was unable to defend the multiple names on almost all of his documents.

The court was also unimpressed with his attempts to simply fix the issues with his identity, age, and academic credentials by using affidavits and a Deed Poll.

That is the latest Nigerian news today on Oborevwori and the Edevbie Case.
