Court Sentence Man To Death By hanging For killing Mother And Daughter

Suleiman Idris, a 25-year-old resident of the Niger Republic, was given a death by hanging verdict by a high court in Birninkebbi, Kebbi State.

Idris was found guilty of the April murders of Sa’adiya Idris and Khadiza Alkali at Alabama Quarters in Birninkebbi, the state capital of Kebbi.

According to Justice Suleiman Ambursa’s ruling, the defendant was charged with two counts of homicide under Sections 191(a) and (b) of the Kebbi State Penal Code 2021, both of which carry a death penalty.

After the defendant admitted to the crime, the presiding judge judged him guilty and gave him a hanging death sentence.

Suleiman Alkali, the defendant’s attorney, claimed that while the legislation had provided an appeal provision, the next course of action had not yet been chosen.
