Chelsea thrashed Leicester 3-0 to retain top spot
Chelsea tightened their grip on first place in the Premier League by punishing Leicester’s shortcomings at King Power Stadium.
With a glancing, looping header from a corner whipped in by ex-Leicester winger Ben Chilwell, Antonio Rudiger continued his streak of scoring against the Foxes.
N’Golo Kante, a former Foxes favourite, doubled the lead with a 30-yard strike from the edge of the box after being allowed to roam 30 yards virtually unchallenged.
Chilwell grazed the bar from an early one-on-one with Kasper Schmeichel, who later denied Kante with his legs, and Chelsea could have been out of sight by half-time.
After the break, Leicester showed more attacking intent, with Edouard Mendy making a fantastic save to tip away a fierce long-range shot from Daniel Amartey and Jamie Vardy heading over from close range.

Chelsea, who extended their lead at the top to six points ahead of Saturday’s late kick-offs, could have had more as Schmeichel made a fine save from Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi curled inches over.
Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, and Christian Pulisic all had goals disallowed for offside, with Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, and Christian Pulisic completing his comeback from injury by slotting home Chelsea’s third from Hakim Ziyech’s cross.
