On Sunday, June 19, Wasiu, who plied the Ishaga-Fagba route, had a fight with a colleague from another park, which resulted in a fight.
The following is what an eyewitness told Ejes Gist Newspaper: “Wasiu got into a fight with someone in the park before going to get a bottle.
However, when he smashed it on the ground, the broken pieces struck a nearby alcohol vendor’s baby, causing the child to bleed.”
When the baby’s father, Ikman, was informed, he allegedly mobilized his colleagues and assaulted Wasiu until he was knocked out.
According to another source who spoke to the publication, “Wasiu had a close friendship with Ikman.
He also operates a commercial bus service between Berger and Obalende.
Wasiu would not have died if Ikman had not left him unconscious on the floor after the attack and made no attempt to resuscitate him.”
Following Wasiu’s death, some road transport workers at the bus station, thought to be friends of the deceased, protested the decision to leave the body at the bus station, claiming that it was an attempt to implicate them.

The body was later taken by police, who were accompanied by the deceased’s relatives in a truck.
