LIVE UPDATE: Burkina Faso vs Tunisia : Score ( 1-0 ).
82 mins: OUATTARA IS OFF!
The goalscorer has been sent-off, for that elbow on Maaloul. Burkina Faso’s task gets even more difficult!
62 mins: oh No
Clever corner from Tunisia, rolled to the edge of the box for Khazri to run onto. Doesn’t connect with it, scuffed effort falls to Msakni who backheels it towards goal… blocked.
Burkina Faso just about survive
50 mins: Chaos at both ends.
Sliti throws himself to the ground in the Burkina Faso box, in a desperate attempt to get a penalty. Doesn’t work.
Ben Said then comes MILES off his line and out of his box to clear a through ball. Just about got there in time.
48 mins: Laidouni shown a yellow card for arguing with the referee about a decision.
He then argues even more about the yellow card – asking for trouble.
Underway for the second half!

So, Burkina Faso in front at the break after that late goal.
They’ve probably just about deserved it, having caused Tunisia a number of problems in wide areas.
GOAL! Burkina Faso 1-0 Tunisia | Dango Ouattara 45+3 mins
WHAT A FINISH!
Burkina Faso take the lead with the final kick of the half. They break up the pitch, and Toure plays Ouattara in.
Drives into the box, cuts back inside… and then fires it past Ben Said.
40 mins: Better from Burkina Faso, Yago with a lovely clipped ball over the top.
Ouattara takes it in his path, goes for the early shot… doesn’t catch it at all. Easy save for Ben Said.
14 mins: Laidouni brings down Ouattara, Tunisia giving away a number of free-kicks already. This one could be within shooting range.
Bit of a delay though, as Koffi is down again in goal off the ball. Hasn’t recovered from that earlier collision.
9 mins: Burkina Faso back up to full-strength, but goalkeeper Koffi still looks in a fair bit of pain.
Tunisia not seeing a huge amount of the ball – they look dangerous on the counter when they win it back though.

Tunisia’s shock round-of-16 win over Nigeria could well spark their AFCON challenge in what appears to be the most evenly contested of the quarter-finals. After a shaky start in the group stage, defeating one of the tournament favorites came as a complete shock and will undoubtedly boost their confidence this late in the game.
A perfect example of tournament football in many ways. It’s not necessary for teams to run amok. All about grinding out results at the right time.
Burkina Faso, on the other hand, should have beaten Gabon in their round of 16 tie in under 90 minutes and will hope to convert more of the chances they create. If they don’t, you believe Tunisia has the capability to punish them before penalties are imposed.

The AFCON quarter-final meeting is scheduled for a 8:00pm WAT kick-off on Saturday January 29, 2022.
