Buhari swears in three new permanent secretaries

On Wednesday, administered the Oaths of Allegiance and Office to three new Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Civil Service.

Shortly before the start of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Buhari swore in the new senior officers.

Farouk Yabo (Sokoto State), Lydia Jafiya (Adamawa State), and Udom Ekenam (Adamawa State) are among them (Akwa Ibom).

Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of the Federal Civil Service, and Major General Babagana Monguno, National Security Adviser, were in attendance.

Other Ministers in attendance include Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning; Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice; Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture; and Mohammed Bello, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Others include Ministers Niyi Adebayo of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Prof. Ali Pantami of Communication and Digital Economy; Abubakar Aliyu of Power; Dr. Chris Ngige of Labour and Employment; and Sadiya Farouq of Human Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

All other Council members who were not physically present joined the meeting virtually, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who participated from home.

A week ago, Osinbajo was released from the Duchess International Hospital, where he had surgery on his right femur (thigh bone) as a result of a squash-related injury.

According to a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo was only released from the hospital after having “physiotherapy and a seamless rehabilitation” and “would continue recuperating in the coming days.”

The Vice President joined the conference this week from his official house, Aguda House.
