The Buhari administration has revealed how Nnamdi Kanu hijacked the EndSARS protests and killed security agents.
Ejes Gist News can authoritatively reports that the Nigerian government has revealed how Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, took advantage of the #EndSARS protests in 2020 to cause mayhem, resulting in the deaths of several security agents.
This was made known in a statement issued by Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation.
The AGF revealed in a lengthy report made available to EJES GIST NEWS that Kanu seized the protests by making subversive and inciting statements.
“As you know, Nnamdi Kanu, the self-declared leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been at the centre of a subversive campaign against the Nigerian government. As a result, on October 14, 2015, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested. He was charged with treasonable felony, among other things, in court.”
“On April 25, 2017, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted him bail.” He, on the other hand, violated his bail conditions and fled the country.”
“While in exile, Nnamdi Kanu ramped up his subversive campaign, using online radio Biafra to incite violence and incite IPOB members to attack civil and democratic institutions, particularly security personnel, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and civilians.” He ordered the destruction of both public and private property throughout the country.”
“As a result of these criminal activities, a Federal High Court in Abuja proscribed and designated IPOB as a terrorist organisation in an Order issued on September 20, 2017.”
“Despite the Federal Government’s proscription of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu continued his subversive campaign, instigating and inciting broadcasts to direct IPOB members to launch attacks on the government.”
“The October 2020 EndSARS protests played into Nnamdi Kanu’s sinister plans, in which he seized the protests through subversive and inciting online broadcasts and actively commanded and directed attacks on security personnel and facilities.”
“As a result of these broadcasts, IPOB members attacked and killed security personnel, as well as burning down police stations, correctional centres, INEC offices, bus terminals, the Palace of Oba of Lagos, banks, hospitals, shopping malls, and vehicles,” according to the statement.
“On the 12th of December, 2020, Nnamdi Kanu established the Eastern Security Network” (ESN) as an armed wing of IPOB with the mission of advancing the outlawed group’s nefarious agenda. ESN continued to attack security personnel as well as civilians perceived to be enemies, as well as destroying private and public property. Because IPOB/destructive ESN’s activities pose a serious threat to Nigeria’s national security and corporate existence, Nnamdi Kanu and members of his group were re-arrested.”
