In Delta State, a retired Shell worker (name withheld) was reportedly shot dead when gunmen thought to be kidnappers ambushed his vehicle.

After shooting the septuagenarian, the gunmen took the deceased’s wife and two children.
Ejes Gist News Online learnt the incident happened on Sunday around 6 p.m. along the Evwreni-Ughelli section of the East-West Road in Delta State’s Ughelli North Local Government Area.

The victims were alleged to be on their way to Warri from Bayelsa State when the attackers ambushed their car.
On the vehicle, there were six people, including the deceased’s driver. At the time of reporting this post on Monday, the driver was still missing.
According to sources, the hoodlums shot the man and then ordered one of the children in the vehicle to drive him to the hospital while fleeing with the deceased’s wife and two children.
According to reports, the former oil worker died at a hospital in Ughelli after being transported for medical help.
The deceased was a native of Kaiama, Bayelsa State.
According to our information, the deceased’s wife and two children are still being held captive by their kidnappers.
“The gunmen have not notified the deceased’s relatives about the kidnapping of his wife and two children. The victim was a former SPDC employee. He was an engineer, according to one of our sources.
