BREAKING: Tears Across Nigeria as First Class King Dies at 93

Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, has joined his ancestors.

He was 93 years old when he died.

On Sunday, he reportedly died at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.

High Chief Amidu Ajibade, the Ekarun Olubadan, confirmed his death.

On March 4, 2017, Oba Adetunji was crowned the 41st Olubadan.

After Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade died, he took over.

He was born on August 26, 1928, in the Alusekere compound, Popoyemoja, Ibadan, to Raji Olayiwola and Suwebat Amope Adetunji, the eldest of his father’s 17 children.

His mother was from the Apomu Balogun family, and his father was a well-known Ibadan native.

It happened 22 days after the death of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, the Soun of Ogbomoso.

Another palace source, who did not deny or confirm the news, said he was unable to comment because he was not in a position to do so.

He, on the other hand, claimed that the palace was calm and peaceful.

Mr Adeola Oloko, the Olubadan’s media aide, did not pick up the phone at the time of filing this report.
