Supreme Court Affirms INEC’s Deregistration of 74 Political Parties
On Friday, the Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s decision to deregister the National Unity Party and 73 other political parties.
The Independent National Electoral Commission deregistered political parties last year due to their failure to win any election during the 2019 general elections.

The Supreme Court said on Friday that the deregistration of NUP, one of the 74 parties, was performed in accordance with the laws and in keeping with the existing provisions of the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
