Army has killed gunmen and lost a soldier in Enugu State.
Ejes Gist News reports three unknown gunmen have been killed by the Nigerian Army in a gun battle between hoodlums and troops of Sector 5 of Exercise GOLDEN DAWN deployed in Enugu State.
The Army Public Relations Officer, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu announced on Saturday.

The Army Public Relations Officer also claimed that unknown gunmen were responsible for the October 7, 2021 attack on a Nigerian Police checkpoint along the Okija-Onitsha expressway.
“Troops from Sector 5 of Exercise GOLDEN DAWN deployed in Enugu have neutralised three unknown gunmen who attacked a Nigerian Police checkpoint along the Okija-Onitsha expressway on October 7, 2021,” Nwachukwu said.
“With superior firepower, the gallant troops engaged and overwhelmed the gunmen, forcing them to flee the scene. Troops, on the other hand, pursued them and engaged the gunmen in a gunfight.
“The three gunmen, who arrived in two vehicles (a Hilux and a Hummer bus), succumbed to the troops’ effective firepower, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
