President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria four days after he travelled to Paris, France.
On Thursday evening, he arrived in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and was greeted by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, as well as other senior government officials.
Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), and Yusuf Bichi, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, were among those present.

President Buhari attended the African Finance Summit in France, which focused on reviewing the African economy in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic’s shocks.
The summit brought together major players from the global financial institutions, as well as some heads of state, to discuss external funding, debt treatment for Africa, and private sector reforms.
During his trip, President Buhari met with French President Emmanuel Macron in a bilateral meeting to discuss the growing security threats in the Sahel and Lake Chad regions.
Both leaders agreed to work together to combat the insecurity that plagues the Lake Chad basin and the entire Sahel region at the meeting.
Despite the alarming rate of security challenges in various parts of the country, President Macron pledged his unwavering support for Nigeria and its people.
He promised that his government would provide all necessary assistance to Nigeria in combating the security threats that are impeding the country’s economic growth, as well as to assist the African country in overcoming the challenges posed by COVID-19 vaccines.
President Buhari, for his part, highlighted the problems that Nigeria and its neighbours face, as well as the efforts he has taken to revive reaction to the situation, including the appointment of new service chiefs, according to him.
Nigeria, he claims, is willing to engage with France and all international partners to address the country’s security concerns.
The President was accompanied on the trip by Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Adeniyi Adebayo, Minister of Trade and Investment; and Dr. Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Health.
Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser, and Ahmed Rufai, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), were among the others.
Meanwhile, Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, says the Southern Governors’ decision to outlaw open grazing is irreversible and will be enforced.
They are prepared to defend the validity of their decision in court, according to Akeredolu, who is also the Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum.
He’s responding to Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami’s comments.
During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Malami criticised the restriction on open-grazing, claiming that governors do not have the authority to do so.
Malami’s comparison of open grazing to car parts trading, according to Ondo Governor, is not only bizarre, but also unpleasant, and “betrays a horrible mindset.”

He emphasised that the governors of the South are “very willing to meet him in court.”
