named Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as its Chairman after approving the formation of a Health Sector Reform Committee to begin the development and implementation of a Health Sector Reform Programme for Nigeria in collaboration with state governments and the FCT administration.

The committee, which will conduct a six-month review of all healthcare reforms implemented in the last two decades, as well as lessons learned, and incorporate them into the development of the new Health Sector Reform Programme, will be chaired by Vice President and comprise members from the private and public sectors, development partners, and representatives.

President Nigeria Medical Association, President Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, President National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, President Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Mrs Temi Marcella Awogboro, Dr Muhammad Sadiq, Dr Azubike Tagbo, and World Health Organization, Nigeria are among the members of the committee.

Vesta Healthcare Partners and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will serve on the committee as resource persons and observers.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has approved Dr Ifedayo Morayo Adetifa’s appointment as the new Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). He has been appointed to this important commitment by the President.
