President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that a number of prominent Nigerians have been identified as sponsors of secessionist agitators Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho.
Ejes Gist News recalls that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was arrested in Kenya earlier this year and has been detained by the DSS, while Sunday Igboho, who leads the Yoruba Nation agenda, is detained in the Benin Republic.
The President revealed in his Independence Day speech on Friday that investigations into the activities of both men have uncovered a wealth of information.
“The recent arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo, as well as the ongoing investigations, have revealed the involvement of certain high-profile financiers,” he stated.
“We are pursuing these financiers aggressively, including one who is a serving member of the national assembly.”
