Supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi disobeyed court orders against having a protest in Lekki.
Ejes Gist Newspaper reports that On Saturday, October 1, the ‘Obidients’, supporters of Labour Party(LP) Candidate for president could be seen marching in large groups near the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
A tweep, who posts videos on Twitter, @Nkemchor in a post said;
“The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering,” . I am really happy with this generation. Join them if Lekki is your path!
Another Obidient @eklepatience tweeted;
“All we want is a genuine leader who is ready to serve Nigerians. We are not asking for much, just give us Peter Obi,”. Festac Lagos is in compliance.
Recall that a competent court of jurisdiction had given a judgement in which it forbade supporters of the Labour party presidential candidate from protesting at Lekki toll gate?
The court further asked the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to see to it that the order is carried out.
Ejes Gist Newspaper reports that on Friday, the Lagos State Police Command issued a warning against holding any sort of demonstration at the Lekki Toll gate, citing the court order that forbade it and even deployed security men to the scene to ensure the order to upheld.
The march appeared to be taking place in various areas of Lagos, including Festac Town, Surulere, and the National Stadium, according to Twitter users who provided photographs.
@BensonIbeabuchi, another Twitter user, tweeted:
