The leader of the United Methodist Church’s Southern Conference, Rev. Philip Micah Dopah, where Jediel worships, urged Tarabans to pray to God in unison for the safe release of the labour leader who was kidnapped on Sunday.

Kidnappers have continued to carry out their illegal acts in the state without being hunted down by security officers.

Inquiring as to why kidnapping has become so common in the state, he stated that the state must work with security operatives as soon as possible.

A close family acquaintance who spoke with our correspondent expressed dissatisfaction with the state ’s handling of security.

In response to the kidnapping, a former Labour Party leader underlined the importance of security operatives going above and beyond to ensure the safety of the Labour leader when he is eventually released.

The abductors have not contacted the family to demand ransom as of the time of reporting this post.

Attempts to contact Taraba Police Public Relations Officer David Misal for more information on the situation were unsuccessful because he did not pick up his phone calls.
