A leader of the ISWAP terrorists who attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28 plans to wed Azurfa Lois John, 21, who was one of the attack’s youngest victims.
On Friday, Tukur Mamu, a member of the negotiating team, confirmed the development.
Mamu predicted that the wedding might happen at any time.
However, he urged the Nigerian Christian Association and the federal government to move quickly to secure the release of all the victims.
Mamu also reported that the oldest attack victim, Hajiya Halimatu Atta, 85, and her daughter Adama Aliyu, 53, had been freed.
The two were among the four hostages that the terrorists released on Friday.
Mamu pointed out that the 23 victims who are still alive are in pitiful health and need immediate medical care.
Additionally, he urged CAN to avoid politicising the subject or reducing it to press releases only. Mamu urged the religious organisation to collaborate closely with the appropriate authorities to find Ms. John’s kidnappers before it was too late.
