Military Aircraft Crashes On Runway In Abuja
A military aircraft has crashed a few yards off the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja.
The military aircraft number king Air 350.
In a Sunday tweet, Hadi Sirika, the aviation minister, confirmed the incident.
The minister tweeted: “A King Air 350 military aircraft just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting a Minna en-route engine failure.”
“It is fatal, it seems. We should remain calm and wait for the results of an army inquiry, as we pray, if any, for the departed soul/soul.
It was not clear at the time of the filing of this report how many people were on board the craft.
Statements concerning the tragic incident are yet to be made by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the military.
