Industrial Court Restrains Edo NUT from Embarking on Strike
The Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, has been prevented by the National Industrial Court sitting at the Benin Judicial Division from proceeding with any strike in Edo State Primary Schools.
Hon. Hon! Justice A. A. Adewemimo, after listening to the submissions put forward by the Edo State Solicitor-General, Oluwole Iyamu, SAN, gave the order on Monday, February 1.

In the case of Suit No.NICN/BEN/04/2021, the applicants are the Edo State Government and the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB.
The Chairman, NUT, Edo State, Pius O. are the defendants in the suit.

The Honourable Justice, delivering its ruling, restrained the Chairman and Assistant Secretary General of NUT, Edo State, respectively, from acting either by themselves or their agents or from taking any strike action pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice, set for Tuesday, 9 February 2021.
