IGP has ordered the FIB to investigate the invasion of Justice Odili’s residence.
Ejes Gist News can authoritatively reports that the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) has been directed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, to conduct extensive investigations into the purported invasion of Justice Mary Odili’s Abuja apartment.
According to the IGP, the Force’s leadership was unaware of the situation and did not order Police operatives to carry out such tasks at any time.
The purported invasion of the sanctity of the dwelling of the Supreme Court Justice was termed by Baba as regrettable and unacceptable.
“As a result, the IGP has directed the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) to conduct a discrete investigation into the incident,” said CP Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer.
He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to the safety and security of members of the judiciary as well as Nigerians in general.
The IGP also urged calm and stated that the force will do everything in its ability to identify the culprits and motives behind the breach, to bring all charged individuals to justice.
Baba has asked the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to beef up security surrounding Her Lordship, Justice Mary Odili JSC’s street and residence to safeguard her safety and prevent a repeat of the tragic incident.
He promised that after the investigations were completed, the specifics of the police investigations will be made public.
