Three relatives of Steve Orogwu, chairman of the Ikwo Local Government Area in Ebonyi State, were killed by gunmen.
The hoodlums stormed the chairman’s home in Ekpaomaka on Tuesday night, according to a source who spoke newsmen.

Three of his relatives, as well as the security guard on duty, were killed by the intruders.
In an emotional voice, Orogwu confirmed the incident to our reporter.
“They attacked my house in the middle of the night and killed my elder brother, two of his sons, and our security guard,” he said.

He also claimed that the gunmen burned down the family’s home.
It was also learned that the victims’ bodies were taken to an Abakaliki mortuary.
As of the time of writing this report, the reason for the attack was unknown.
When contacted for comment, Ebonyi Police spokesperson Loveth Odah said she was away on official business.
