When gunmen stormed the Damba government housing estate in Gusau, the state capital of Zamfara, the incident occurred.
According to reports, four bandits armed with sophisticated weapons stormed the area early Wednesday morning and began shooting sporadically in the air to scare residents.
They broke into Babangida Damba’s house and shot him in the hand, while his wife and their eight-month-old baby were taken away.
According to sources speaking to TVC NEWS, the operation lasted half an hour without any security intervention.
The incident has been confirmed by Zamfara police, who assure that command troops are on the lookout for the kidnappers to ensure the safe return of the victims.
