  • Former commissioner Mu’azu Magaji has been fired by Governor Ganduje for the second time.

Ejes Gist News reports, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji has been fired by Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, for the second time in a year.

You may recall that Governor Ganduje had fired Magaji, who was then a commissioner, following an allegation on Facebook that he had mocked the death of Abba Kyari, the former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari who died as a result of complications from the COVID-19 virus outbreak in the state.Just In : Sacked Kano State Commissioner Who Mocked Abba Kyari Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Ganduje, on the other hand, hired him for a different position a few months later.

NNPC/AKK Gas Pipeline Project and Gas Industrialization Committee, of which he serves as Executive Chairman, were created for him.

Governor Ganduje, on the other hand, terminated his appointment on Monday, citing “poor performance and insubordination.”

Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner of Information, released a statement in which he detailed the most recent development in the case.

Garba claimed that the controversial former commissioner failed to act in accordance with the law while carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him to supervise the project.


He has not been forthcoming in working to achieve the desired objective, according to the statement. His leadership of the committee, which is responsible, among other things, for coordinating in close partnership with the NNPC on timely implementation of the project, has not been forthcoming in working to achieve the desired objective.


According to the statement, the governor directed Magaji to transfer control of the committee’s affairs to the Deputy Executive Chairman, Aminu Babba Dan’Agundi, and Sarkin Dawaki Babba, among others.
