Hon Jude Adjekpovu, the councillor representing Ward 5 in the Ethiope East Legislative Arm, has been shot dead
Adjekpou died as a result of bullet wounds he received from suspected Fulani herders.

Last week, while returning home from a function, the lawmaker was attacked and shot by gunmen along the popular Eku/Abraka road.

In the early hours of Thursday, December 16, Hon Jude Adjekpovu died in a private hospital in Wado city, where he was receiving treatment.
In response to Adjekpovu’s death, Council Chairman Hon. Victor Ofobrukueta stated that criminal elements in the area are on the verge of being apprehended by security personnel.
The Abraka-Eku road has recently become a dangerous route for travellers, with numerous kidnapping and robbery cases reported in December alone.
