APC National working Committee, NWC rejects Presidential Campaign Council,PCC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has separated itself from the most recent release of the official Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) list.

The NWC’s decision was based on a number of things, including the fact that it did not give the list its final approval and that talks between eggheads of the presidential campaign council and the three man Committee set up by the NWC to harmonise the list fell down.

A member of the NWC told our Abuja-based correspondent that the list’s fundamental flaws are confirmed by the fact that the PCC issued it rather than the party’s national leadership.

Osinbanjo Not on PCC

In the meantime, the PCC justified Yemi Osinbajo’s omission from the list, asserting that it was not a sign that something was wrong inside the APC family.

“Nothing is more false than the facts that are not well spelt. President Muhammadu Buhari is the Campaign Council’s chairman, just to be clear.

In order to focus on national governance and government administration, the Vice President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, have been specifically ordered to be excluded from the Campaign Council.

“All the major government officials cannot leave their jobs for electioneering campaigns as a responsible party and government. The APC has the mandate of the Nigerian people to govern the nation on their behalf for at least another two years, until May 29, 2023, and we plan to carry out this mandate with the utmost sense of responsibility.
