Mike Ogar, the former Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, has died.
Hon. Ogar, who also served in the Cross River State House of Assembly as a representative for the people of Bekwarra State Constituency, died on Monday, August 30, 2021, according to reports.
Though the cause of his death has not been determined, sources close to his family have confirmed that he is no longer alive.

Mike Ogar was elected as a member of the Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Constituency in 1999.
Mike Ogar, who was born on July 22, 1948, earned his Ph.D. in Regional Planning from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mike Ogar served as Commissioner of Commerce and Industries and Commissioner of Information from 1984 to 1985. (1985-1986).
He works as an environmental consultant and urban and regional planner.
He is a father of five children.
