The former Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture in Yobe State, Alhaji Goni Fika, has died.
His family was the first to learn of his death.
He died after a brief illness from an undisclosed disease.
The Governor of Yobe State and Chairman of the APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, has expressed sorrow over the death of Alhaji Goni Fika, the former Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture.
According to Gov. Buni’s spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, Fika committed his life to the service of Yobe State.
“The late Goni Fika was a respected journalist, a dedicated general manager of the Yobe Broadcasting Corporation, a permanent secretary, and a commissioner.”
He added that “he contributed greatly and selflessly to the development of our media organizations and the state as a whole.”
He said the late Fika will be remembered for his humility, insightful counsel, and commitment to the state’s growth.
He stated that “his family, Fika Emirate Council, and Yobe State have all suffered a significant loss.”
On behalf of himself, the administration, and the people of the state, the Governor expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family and prayed to Allah to pardon him and grant him Aljannatur Firdaus.
He also prayed to God to give his family the strength to handle the enormous void left by his death.
