Nigeria’s first full HD Television Studio, in Ogun
Hi-Impact TV, Nigeria’s first full HD television studio, was destroyed by fire in Ogun.
The television studio is located on the grounds of Hi-Impact Planet Amusements Park & Resort in Ibafo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun, at Kilometer 12 of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The station caught fire on Thursday, and the studio was completely destroyed.
In a statement released on Friday, the Ogun State Fire Services confirmed the incident.
The fire was traced to a power surge, according to a statement signed by the fire service Public Relations Officer, Bunkunola Kuti, who also stated that the fire was quickly curtailed and extinguished by the firefighters.
“Firefighters from the Isheri fire station of the Ogun State Fire Service, led by the Area Commander, Engr Akinwande Abiodun, responded” to the fire call at the studio, according to the statement.
Despite the fact that no one was killed in the unfortunate incident, valuables in the studio were burned to ashes.
Barrister Femi Ogunbanwo, the State Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, and Fatai Adefala, the Director of the State Fire Services, had visited the scene on behalf of the State Government to express their condolences to the management and staff.
