Jubilation burst out in Asaba as Delta PDP announces winner of governorship primaries
Sheriff Oborevwori, the speaker of the Delta state house of assembly, has won the PDP governorship primary after months of campaigning and preparations for the long-awaited governorship elections in Delta state. He received 590 votes to win.
The primary election was held in a peaceful and secure environment. The accreditation took place in the state event centre, while the primary elections took place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.

Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, one of the 14 contestants who were screened for the election, dropped out due to alleged differences with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
