An APC Governorship Aspirant has been suspended for partisan politics.
The Catholic Diocese of Gboko in Benue State has suspended one of their priests, the Reverend Father Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
This was in response to his decision to enter partisan politics.
Father Hyacinth Iormem Alia, who is running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, is one of the top candidates for governor in Benue State.
In a letter dated May 20 and obtained by Ejes Gist Newspaper on Saturday, the church stated that it is against the Mother Church’s policy for any of its serving priests to enter politics.
The suspension of Reverend Father Hyacinth Iormem Alia is effective immediately, according to a letter signed by Bishop William Avenya of the Catholic Diocese of Gboko and Apostolic Administrator Sede Vacante of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala.
