According to a police spokesperson, the explosion occurred around 9.15 p.m. on Sunday at one Omofemi Bar in Kabba’s Okepadi Quarters.
“As it stands now, there are no casualties, only chairs and tables, and the building is affected by the explosion’s yet-to-be-determined nature,” he said.
“Our DC Investigations and the Bomb Detective Squad have already been dispatched to the scene by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Egbuka, to determine the exact nature of the explosion.”
“Our officers and men drafted to the area have cordoned off the area until an investigation reveals the true cause of the explosion,” says the police chief.

“It’s unfortunate that criminal elements are attempting to destabilize the current peace in Kogi.
“We will not rest until such elements are brought to justice and see the importance of maintaining peace in our society.”
Ovye-Aya urged residents of Okepadi and Kabba to remain calm and carry on with their daily activities without fear, noting that the police were on top of the situation.
