Plane With 132 Onboard Crashes, Casualties Unknown

An official told our correspondent in a news conference on Monday that DNA testing had identified all 132 victims of the China Eastern Airlines jet disaster.

Following the accident, public security officials in 20 provincial-level regions were organised to gather DNA samples from people on board and their relatives in order to identify the victims, according to Liu Kaihui.

Kaihui is a member of the Ministry of Public Security’s staff.

He said that 20 DNA experts tested and analysed the samples, and that the final victim’s identity was established on Monday morning.

On March 21, a Boeing 737 flight from Kunming, Yunnan Province, to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, crashed near Tengxian County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
