Abba Kyari Moved Out Of Kuje Prisons After Terror Attack
Following a terror attack on the Kuje Prisons facility on Wednesday night, some inmates have escaped from the Prisons.
Around 10:30 p.m., the terrorists launched their attack, and it is presently unknown if anyone was hurt.
Ejes Gist Newspaper gathered that other detainees, including suspended deputy police commissioner Abba Kyari, who was remanded at the prison by a Federal High Court, were reportedly taken from the facility.
Kyari is on trial for allegedly distributing cocaine along with the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Unit (IRT), four former members of his police unit, and two other people who were detained at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, Enugu State, in January of this year.
Established in 1989, Kuje Prisons includes Maximum and Minimum Holding Cells with a total of approximately 700 inmates.
In response to the attack, the Nigerian Correctional Services, NCS has not yet released a statement.
