Why PDP may lose 2023 presidential election – Bode George
Bode George, a well-known chieftain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has warned that the party’s ongoing instability could lead to its defeat in the 2023 presidential election.
During the week, George revealed this to newsmen in a conversation in Lagos.
He declared that he agrees with the demand that Iyorchia Ayu step down as the party’s national chairman.
“Ethnicity or religion should not be used as a means of dividing us. Unfortunately, given what we are seeing right now, if we continue to ignore or fail to address the sense of “alienation” and complaints being felt by the entire Southern population of this great country, our party may lose the next presidential election.
“We cannot rely on their support if this problem is ignored.
“PDP becomes vulnerable to disaster in the 2023 elections until this party returns to the founding fathers’ principles of unity, with equity, fairness, and justice being the pedestal for any political decision taken in this party, and ensuring broad-mindedness to accommodate the concerns of all zones in this country,” he said.
Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential candidate has appointed certain governors to be Director General of his presidenial campaign council.
Atiku Appoints Members of his Campaign Council
Underming the Clamour for Iyorchia Ayu’s Resignation by the Wike’s camp, adding that the party is tilting towards the northern region with more of its appointment in the north, Atiku appointed a northern Governor, Aminu Tambuwal as the Director General of his campaign council.
He also appointed Governor Nyesom Wike as a member of his campaign council despite their ongoing issues which dates back to the PDP convention that produced Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential candidate.
