was born on the 9th of October,1988 to the Okagbare family from Isiokolo axis of Agbon Kingdom,one of the Urhobo kingdoms in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta state.Although, Blessing Okagbare was born and brought up in Sapele Delta state,she holds a National Diploma in Business Administration from the prestigious Delta State Polytechnic Otefe Oghara,Delta state.

Given her athletic physique,her teachers and family encouraged her to take up sport and she was discovered at the Delta State Polytechnic Otefe Oghara,by the head coach of the Polytechnic late Mr.Hycient Okpurughre AKA coachilala of blessed memory,during one of the National Inter Polytechnic of Games Association (NIPOGA).Being a girl who believes in giften,she was passionate in music and played football as a teanager,in the high school and later takes interest in track and field in 2004.Competing in long jump, triple jump and high jump events at the Nigerian school championship winning medals in each.

Blessing Okagbare international career stated in 2006 world Junior championships in Athletics and since then,she has became a Nigerian number one female track and field athlete who specializes in long jumping and short sprints.

Blessing Okagbare carrying the Urhobo DNA with greater dexterity, muscles and psychomotor disposition,she set all time record of 10:58seconds for the women’s 100 metres Commonwealth Games in 2013,holds African under 20records in mark 14.13m in the triple jump 2011 and so on.

Blessing Okagbare has won so several medals to her credit, including world championships:silver in long jump 2008 Beijing,silver long jump and bronze 200m moscow2013.Common wealth:Gold 100m,Gold 200m and silver 4×100m relay Glasgrow 2014,Bronze 4×100m relay Gold coast 2018.All Africa Games:Gold long jump,silver 100m and Gold 4×100m relay Maputo2011,Gold 4×100m relay Brazzaville 2015 and numerous others.

She holds the African Senior record in 100m with her best 10.79 seconds from 27th July 2013 to 11June 2016,when it was beaten by Ivorian athlete Murielle Ahoure and still retain the best in 200m with 22.04seconds since 2018.She is rank 9 in 100m world ranking and 29 in women’s overrall world ranking.

She just secured qualification for the 2019 world championships that will hold 27Sept.-6 Oct.2019 in Daha and Tokyo Olympic 2020 that will hold from July 24-9August 2020.She got married September 2014 to a Nigerian footballer,Igho Otegheri another Urhobo blood who played for heartland FC as a striker during his career.
