Alleged in Abuja has led Islamic youths to kill a member of a vigilance group in the Lugbe area of Abuja.

According to reports, the heinous incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday while members of the vigilance group at the famed Timber Shed market at the Federal Housing Estate (FHA) Lugbe in Abuja were attempting to apprehend some people breaching the market.

Residents were said to have pleaded with the vigilantes to release them in the name of Allah, but one of the vigilantes allegedly kicked them and made blasphemous remarks.

One of the vigilante operations reportedly stated that even if “God comes down,” he will not allow the person arrested to return home.

The other party was enraged by the remark, so they gathered and pulled down the vigilante office to save their man.

The vigilante staff who insisted on not releasing the apprehended person were reportedly attacked, killed, and set ablaze by the group.

Security agents were deployed to the scene of the incident at the time this report was filed in order to de-escalate tensions in the region and prevent retaliation attacks.
