Islamic cleric and 14 others arrested over murder of vigilante member over alleged

Fifteen individuals were arrested in connection with the assassination of Ahmad Usman, a member of a vigilante organization, in the Lugbe Area of the FCT On June 4, 2022.

According to a statement from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, the suspects were apprehended after an inquiry into the 30-year-old’s death.

One of those arrested was an Islamic cleric who allegedly incited a mob to assassinate a security officer at the Tipper Garage in Lugbe, Abuja, for supposed against Prophet Mohammed.

Malam Lawan and others who participated in the extrajudicial mob action were transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, according to Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Babaji Sunday, who promised that the command would be brought to justice.
