NGX: MRS, BUA Foods among top gainers as investors gain N23bn

On Monday, investors on the Nigerian stock exchange took home N23 billion, extending the bourse’s bullish run for another week.

This followed a 0.09 percent increase in equity capitalization from N23.62 trillion last Friday to N23.65 trillion at the end of the day’s trading.

The All-Share Index rose 42.71 basis points to close at 43,897.13, up from 43,854.42 the week before.

On Monday, investors bought and sold 311.25 million shares worth N8.64 billion in 5,159 transactions.

BUA Foods topped the gainers’ chart after rising N5.30kobo from N53.20kobo per share to N58.50kobo per share at the close of trading.

MRS’s share price increased by N1.20kobo, closing at N13.55kobo per share, up from N12.35kobo.

PZ’s share price increased by N0.55kobo to N7 per share, up from N6.45kobo.

The share price of AIICO increased by 7.69 percent, from N0.78kobo to N0.84kobo per share.

NPF MFB’s share price increased by N0.12kobo to N1.98kobo per share, up from N1.86kobo per share.

NNFM topped the losers’ table, with its share price dropping from N7.25kobo to N6.55kobo per share, a loss of N0.70kobo.

Union Bank’s share price dropped from N5.80kobo to N5.40kobo per share during trading, resulting in a loss of N0.40kobo.

Redstar Express’s share price fell by N0.22kobo to N3.23kobo per share, down from N3.45kobo.

MTN Nigeria’s share price fell N11.50kobo to N185.50kobo, down from N197 per share.

Sovereign Insurance rounded out the top five after losing 3.85 percent of its value, falling from N0.26kobo to N0.25kobo per share.
