Following a 0.25 percent drop in equity capitalization at the close of business on Wednesday, investors on the Nigerian capital market lost N65.7 billion.

As a result, after eight hours of trading on the stock exchange floor, the equity capitalization fell from N25.59 trillion to N25.52 trillion.

On Wednesday, the All-Share Index fell 121.94 basis points, from 47,482.73 to 47,360.79.

In 5,620 transactions, investors traded 279.95 million shares worth N4.16 billion.

This was down from the previous day’s 6,045 deals, which saw 370.54 million shares worth N7.85 billion change hands.

Multiverse’s share price increased by 9.09 percent, from N0.22 to N0.24 kobo per share.

NEM’s share price increased by N0.32kobo to N4.14kobo per share, moving from N3.82kobo to N4.14kobo.


FCMB gained N0.26kobo to end trading at N3.46kobo per share, up from N3.20kobo.

Niger Insurance topped the losers’ list after falling 10% from N0.30kobo to N0.27kobo per share.

After losing N0.55kobo during trading, International Breweries’ stock dropped from N5.65kobo to N5.10kobo per share.

RT Briscoe’s stock dropped 9.09 percent to N0.70kobo per share, down from N0.77kobo per share.

NGX dropped N2.20kobo to N23.10kobo per share, down from N25.30kobo.

Cornerstone was the last company on the list to drop from N0.70kobo to N0.64kobo per share, losing 8.57 percent of its market value.

With 29.20 million shares valued at N32.63 million, Transcorp led the day’s trading.
