One billion dollars traded on Xmas week at I&E Window

Nigerian trades on the Investors and Exporters Window (I&E), where official forex is sold, totaled $1.1 billion in value. This is according to data compiled by Nairalytics, Nairametrics’ research arm, on the FMDQOTC.


Meanwhile, on Thursday, investors on the Nigerian stock exchange traded 357.7 million shares worth N6.48 billion in 4, 251 transactions.

After eight hours of trading on the stock exchange floor, the equity capitalisation was also N25.38 trillion.

RT Briscoe topped the gainers’ chart after rising 10% from N0.50kobo to N0.55kobo per share.

NNFM gained N0.90kobo to close at N9.90kobo per share, up from N9.

Honeywell Flour’s stock rose N0.33kobo to N3.66kobo per share, moving from N3.33kobo to N3.66kobo.

The share price of SCOA increased by N0.19kobo, moving from N1.95kobo to N2.14kobo per share.

Academy gained N0.14kobo, closing at N1.63kobo per share, up from N1.49kobo.

CWG was the biggest loser, falling from N1.23kobo to N1.11kobo per share after losing N0.12kobo.

After losing N0.20kobo during trading, Champion Breweries’ stock depreciated from N2.25kobo to N2.05kobo per share.

Lasaco’s stock fell 7.08 percent to N1.05 per share, down from N1.13kobo per share.

Seplat lost N50 and ended trading at N800 per share, down from N850.

Courtville rounded out the top five after losing 5.56 percent of its market value, dropping from N0.54kobo per share to N0.51kobo per share.

With 130.14 million shares worth N3.41 billion, GTCO led the day’s trading.

United Capital exchanged N333.40 million for 30.27 million.

Fidelity Bank came in second with a total of 26.49 million shares worth N79.17 million.

FCMB traded 14.31 million shares worth N42.98 million, while Access Bank sold 16.34 million worth N169.10 million.
