Man United in talks over , player will decide his fate this week

The club might not sign Benjamin Sesko because of the £50 million valuation.

Benjamin Sesko, a striker for Red Bull Salzburg, is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United. The club has made the 19-year-old its top priority in its search for additional attacking players.

United is reportedly prepared to compete with , a rival in the Premier League who is also considering Sesko. Along with the Red Devils and Chelsea, at least one other unidentified club is also interested in the young striker.

Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports continued, “Manchester United have had preliminary discussions with RB Salzburg regarding Benjamin Sesko. The discussions revealed a disparity in valuation.

United are weighing their options regarding the player’s potential trade.

Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist and transfer expert, claims that the United hierarchy has already met with Sesko’s entourage more than once. Last week, the London club also met with Sesko’s agent as the race to sign the highly-touted forward heated up.

Salzburg is adamant that the player is not for sale and would only permit a transfer if a huge offer were to come in.

According to Romano, the player will soon make a decision with his family about which club to join or whether to remain in Austria.

Benjamin Sesko is still of interest to United, but according to James Ducker of The Telegraph, the club has been turned off by Salzburg’s high asking price.

Manchester United is interested in Benjamin Sesko, but they have been deterred by his £50 million plus price tag during negotiations,” claims Ducker.

If United were to back out of such a deal, it would be difficult to find fault with them. Although he has a tonne of potential, he still lacks elite-level experience and, should he choose to remain at Old Trafford, would only be Cristiano Ronaldo’s backup alongside Anthony Martial.

Sesko was on loan in the Austrian second division for the 2020–2021 campaign. The Slovenian began to gain attention only last season, which may have drawn United scouts’ attention.

Due to physical issues and injuries, the young player only started eight league games last season, but he still scored ten goals and provided seven assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
