According to The Nation, the drama in Bayelsa State is not yet over. Barely couple of hours after he became the new guv of Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri faces another battle, which might threaten his required.
He has a new date with his arch-rival, Timi Alaibe, who has asked a Federal High Court to state him as the validly chosen governorship prospect of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. Many in Diri’s camp have been pleading Alaibe, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), to withdraw his case.

But patriots of Alaibe stated their self-confidence had been buoyed by the nullification of the success of the APC prospect, David Lyon, by the Supreme Court. They said given that Lyon’s fate was sealed as an outcome of a pre-election matter, the new guv at best might be a caretaker.
Alaibe’s camp is now relying on the Judiciary to bring back the required of its prospect. They desire Diri out.
