Buhari Should Abolish the Transportation or Trekking of Herdsmen from the Northern Part of Nigeria to the South and Middle Belt - Governor Ganduje

Abdulahi Umar Ganduje, the governor of Kano State, has issued a warning that armed bandits have taken over forests in the state and are plotting assaults.

The Kano governor, speaking at the Defence Headquarters when he met with the Service Chiefs, claimed the bandits are congregating in Falgore forest, despite the state government’s efforts to open it up.

While assuring his administration and security agencies of their commitment to maintaining relative peace in the state, the governor pleaded with the Nigerian Army to hasten the work training depot at the Falgore forest so that the military can take control of the forest during a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya.

The governor, on the other hand, ascribed the state’s current peace to the friendly connection between the government and security agencies.

“My visit here today is to express my condolences to the Nigerian Army on the loss of Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, the former Chief of Army Staff, and ten other officers,” he said. It was painful, untimely, and heartbreaking, but we are comforted by the fact that they died while serving their country. I’m also here to ask the Nigerian Army for assistance in keeping the peace in Kano State, where robbers have turned sections of the state’s woodlands into hideouts.

“In part of the forests, we are constructing houses, schools, and hospitals for the ranchers, but we want the Army to start operations in the Falgore forest.”

The Chief of Army Staff responded by promising to visit the Falgore and look for options to resume work on Army installations in the forest.

He stated that the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with sister services and other security agencies, is dedicated to overcoming security concerns throughout the country.
