Ejes Gist News can authoritatively report that Four members of the Anglican Church of Zaria Diocese have been reportedly kidnapped by bandits along the Kachia-Kaduna Road in Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, when bandits barricaded the road and opened fire on a church bus and a truck carrying firewood, according to sources.
Although Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, announced that eight people were killed in separate attacks in the region on Tuesday, church officials confirmed the attack to Channels Television.
The bandits abducted four passengers, wounded four others, and killed the bus driver, according to the Archbishop of the Anglican Church in Kaduna Province, Most Reverend Buba Lamido.
He said one of the injured people had been released from the hospital, while the other three were still being treated.
In three local government areas, ten people were killed.
Aruwan, for one, told Channels Television that ten people were killed and four others were wounded in separate bandit attacks in the Kajuru, Chikun, and Kachia LGAs on Tuesday.
Armed bandits barricaded the Kaduna-Kachia Road near Kadanye village in Kajuru local government, according to him, and opened fire on a bus.

According to Aruwan, five people were killed in the attack, three others were wounded by gunshots, and a truck driver was killed when bandits opened fire on his vehicle on the Doka axis of the road.
Bandits attacked a herders’ settlement in Inlowo village in Kachia LGA, killing one Ibrahim Haruna and carting away 180 cows from the victim.
A group of armed men also attacked Akilbu village in Kachia, shooting two people who were sitting in a car.
One of the victims was later reported to have died in the hospital, while the other was said to be recovering.
Bandits also killed two people in another attack near Ungwan Yako village in Chikun LGA, after barricading the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road in the area and opening fire on a moving vehicle.

In another incident, police officers on routine patrol in the Buruku region foiled a bandit attack along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road.
According to sources, the operatives rushed to the scene of the attack and engaged the bandits in a gun fight before fleeing.
The two victims, Fahad Lawal and Usman Shehu, were rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment as a result of this.
Security operatives were conducting operations in the general region, according to Aruwan, with the aim of apprehending the bandits.
