Festus Keyamo, Director, Strategic Communications of All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council has backed President Muhammadu Buhari’s loss of life threats to ballot box snatchers forward of the 2019 presidential election.

Keyamo defended Buhari, saying the President was 100 % appropriate constitutionally, by making the comments and that he would even encourage him to repeat it.

Keyamo, showing on Channels Tv, tackled Dino Melaye over Buhari’s statement, noting that poll field snatching is treason and due to this fact punishable by loss of life.

He mentioned: “I believe I’ve listened to so many uninformed comments.

“What the president mentioned is 100 % appropriate, defensible and I’ll urge him to repeat it over and over.

“The President mentioned that whoever leads a band of thugs to go and snatch poll packing containers can pay dearly for it together with his life. That is an accurate statement of the law.

“Ballot field snatching is theft. Ballot field snatching is armed theft. Ballot field snatching is thwarting the desire of the people

“Ballot box snatching is altering a authorities by power, It’s treason. All are punishable by death.

“Dino, you should spend more time in your Law Classes than (clowning) in hospitals.”

On Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari mentioned he has ordered security agencies, to make sure the overall election goes on smoothly.

Speaking on the party’s caucus assembly on Monday, Buhari made it clear that anybody who tries to disrupt the electoral process, might be doing so “at the expense of his own life”.

“I’ll warn those that has planned to disrupt the peaceable elections to desist from their deliberate actions.

“Anyone who tries that is doing it at the expense of his own life,” President Buhari mentioned.
