Kimora Launmei Hodges, 21, of Roseville, was first charged with first-degree child abuse in connection with the case.

On Monday, June 13, the baby’s mother, Taylor Starks, picked him up from their neighbour who was watching the children, and she informed the police that he “did not appear normal.”

The youngster was taken to a nearby hospital. When it was discovered that the child had suffered a serious head injury, the hospital notified the police.

Starks stated on Tuesday that Hodges was a dependable nanny and friend who had frequently supervised Kyrie.

Starks claimed that Hodges messaged her the following morning regarding her son. She initially claimed Kyrie had eaten soap and was experiencing an allergy.

Then Starks hurried back to her Roseville apartment building.

My baby was on the ground experiencing seizure after seizure after seizure when I got there,” she recalled.

She initially accepted the purported allergy story. But Kyrie discovered the worst while she was under the care of medical professionals at Ascension St. John.

He required immediate brain surgery due to a blunt force damage to the head and bleeding from the ears, according to Starks.

“All I know is that she pushed my son against the wall and violently shook him, and they stated that was only a portion of what she did to him,”.

Her GoFundMe page states that her kid was harmed for the first time at 10 p.m. on the 13th, but she wasn’t contacted until 1:51 a.m. on the 14th. Starks claimed to have arrived at her son’s side by 2:05 a.m.

She claimed that Hodges had been caring for her son for months and that her worst nightmare had come true.
