FG given One-Week Ultimatum Over ASUU strike
Igbo youths under the auspices of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), Igbo youths gave the Federal Government a week to settle their dispute with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) or risk a nationwide student strike.
Goodluck Ibem, the president-general of COSEYL, charged that the Muhammadu Buhari administration was “young unfriendly” in a statement.

Since February, university students in Nigeria have been staying at home.
“Youth is the foundation of any nation. No country can succeed and rise to greatness without the enormous contributions of its youth.
In order for our youth to return to school, we demand that the Federal Government end the ASUU strike within the next seven days, according to a statement from COSYEL.

“We demand that the Federal Government end its regressive policy of keeping Nigerian youths out of political and governance roles.
“We demand that the Federal Government give our youth options for productive employment.”
