Isah also revealed that he had set up a special intervention bank account with TAJ Bank to raise funds for the union in order to bring the strike to an end.

Isah made a public display of Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State’s N50 million cash donation, ostensibly to persuade ASUU to support the intervention.

As soon as the money was displayed, the ASUU President frowned and stated that they should not be associated with it.

At that point, Isah threatened to call off the intervention, and many Nigerians who called in during the show called ASUU “insensitive.”

The demands of the striking lecturers include funding for public university revitalization, Earned Academic Allowances, University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS), and promotion arrears.

Renegotiation of the 2009 ASUU-FG Agreement and inconsistency in the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System are among the others.

In a recent interview with Newsmen, Osedeke stated that the Federal Government had not met any of these demands.

“All of the issues that drove us to strike are still present, including the revitalization fund, which entails putting more money into universities and revitalizing their infrastructure.”

There’s also the question of our university payment system.

The government, according to the ASUU president, has also refused to accept UTAS, which he claims was tested and passed with a score of 99.3 percent.
