Army Discharges Popular Female Soldier, Who Accused Army Senior Officers of Sexual Harassment
Army Discharges Female Soldier, Ogunleye, Who Accused Superior of Sexual Harassment on Medical Grounds.
The Nigerian Army has discharged Private Ruth Ogunleye, the female soldier who accused senior officers, including Colonel I.B Abdulkareem, of sexual harassment.
Ogunleye was discharged on medical grounds following a thorough investigation into her claims, which the Army says found no evidence to support her allegations.
Ogunleye had made the accusations on TikTok earlier this year, alleging that Abdulkareem and other senior officers made her life unbearable after she refused his sexual advances.
She also claimed that she was forcibly injected, removed from her residence, and confined to a psychiatric hospital.

In response, the Army launched an investigation, ordered by Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. The probe, according to Army spokesman Major-General Onyema Nwachukwu, found that Colonel Abdulkareem did not commit the alleged offenses.
Nwachukwu added that Ogunleye’s behaviour and mental health concerns became apparent during the investigation, leading to a medical evaluation.
Following the medical evaluation, which confirmed her vulnerability, the Army opted to discharge Ogunleye with a 50% pension for life despite her not meeting the required years of service for a full pension. The Army also refrained from taking disciplinary actions against her in light of her condition.
Ogunleye has received other benefits, including terminal allowances and contributions to the Army Welfare Insurance Scheme.
So what happened to the senior officer who harassed her sexually. Nigerians na wah! Every episode of issues in Nigeria has now turn to drama.
