APC has revealed why it excluded Vice President Yemi Osinbajo from the PCC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council claims that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s removal from the list of 422 candidates put up by the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council was legitimate, Ejes Gist Newspaper reports.
Festus Keyamo, the Presidential Campaign Council’s director of public affairs and top spokesperson, made this statement in which he made it clear that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed Osinbajo and Mr. Boss Mustapha to be excluded from the Campaign Council.
Keyamo stated: “Our attention has been drawn to some stories circulating that there may be a problem within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the name of our own revered and respected Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, is not on the list of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
Why Osinbajo was excluded from the PCC
The truth could not be further from the truth. President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, is the Campaign Council’s Chairman, just to be clear.
Thus, in order to focus on national governance and government administration, Mr. President EXCLUSIVELY ORDERED that the Vice-President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, be excluded from the Campaign Council.
All of the important members of the government cannot leave their posts to participate in electioneering as a responsible Party and Government.
“The APC has the mandate of the Nigerian people to govern the nation on their behalf for at least five more years, through May 29, 2023, and we plan to carry out this mandate with the utmost sense of responsibility.
